Questions
What counts as a working day?
Monday to Friday, except bank holidays in England and Wales, such as Christmas Day, Boxing Day, Good Friday and Easter Monday. When a holiday falls at a weekend, the substitute day is a holiday too.
What if the scheme emailed me at a weekend?
Counting starts from the next working day. The calculator uses the earlier reading where a rule could be read two ways, so its date is never later than the scheme’s own. The date in your scheme’s email is the one to work to.
Can I get more time?
Some schemes will consider an extension if you ask before the deadline, but none promise one. Plan to meet the date, and contact your scheme straight away if you can’t.
What happens if I miss the deadline?
Evidence that arrives late may not be considered. If time is short, send what you have before the deadline and contact your scheme.
Can I rely on this date?
Use it to plan. The date on your scheme notification is the one that counts. TenancyVaults helps you prepare your evidence and is not legal advice.
