Our charity pledge

5% of our profit goes to Crisis, the homelessness charity.

Each year, TenancyVaults gives 5% of its profit to Crisis (registered charity 1082947 in England and Wales, SC040094 in Scotland). Crisis is the national charity for people experiencing homelessness.

Why homelessness?

We work where tenancies end. Most end well, with the deposit returned and both sides moving on. Some end with nowhere to go next.

The end of a private tenancy is the most common reason households in England need their council’s help to avoid becoming homeless. From January to March 2026, that was 14,120 households, 36% of all those helped (MHCLG, statutory homelessness, January to March 2026).

On 31 March 2026, 135,580 households in England were living in temporary accommodation, with 177,530 children. On one night in autumn 2025, 4,793 people were sleeping rough, the highest count on record (MHCLG, rough sleeping snapshot, autumn 2025).

Why Crisis?

Crisis helps people out of homelessness and into a home they can keep, with support for housing, work and wellbeing. It also researches what ends homelessness for good.

Our gift goes to its general work, so Crisis decides where it’s needed most. You can read about its work at crisis.org.uk.

How much do we give?

We give 5% of TenancyVaults’ profit for each financial year, before tax, as shown in its accounts. Our financial year runs from 6 April to 5 April, so the first one ends on 5 April 2027.

TenancyVaults is new, and its first years may make no profit. In a year with no profit there’s no donation, and we’ll say so on this page.

What you pay doesn’t change. The 5% comes out of our profit, never added to your bill.

When is it paid?

We pay it once the year’s accounts are finished, and by the 31 January after the year ends at the latest. The amount then appears on this page, with the date it was paid.

Will the share go up?

We plan to raise it as TenancyVaults grows. Any change appears on this page first, with the financial year it applies from.

Questions

Does the pledge cost me anything?

No. Our prices are the same with or without it. The donation comes out of TenancyVaults’ profit.

Does Crisis recommend TenancyVaults?

No. Crisis receives our donation, but it doesn’t review or recommend deposit dispute packs or the Evidence Locker. TenancyVaults receives no payment from Crisis.

How much have you given so far?

Nothing yet. Our first financial year ends on 5 April 2027, and each year’s amount appears here once it’s paid. For the latest figure at any time, email help@tenancyvaults.co.uk.

How can I give to Crisis myself?
